Advanced Technology Approval Scheme (ATAS) for Postgraduates

Who needs to apply for an ATAS certificate?

You do not need an ATAS certificate if:

  • You are a UK national, a national from an or you hold Indefinite Leave to Enter/Remain in the UK.
  • The postgraduate taught programme to which you are applying is not listed below.

You need an ATAS certificate if:

  • You have an offer to study one of the following postgraduate taught programmes at this University:
    • MSc Advanced Chemical Engineering - CAH3 code: CAH10-01-09
    • MSc Advanced Materials Science and Engineering - CAH3 code: CAH10-03-02
    • MSc Advanced Physics - CAH3 code: CAH07-01-01

How to Apply

You can submit an application once you have received the official 黑料不打烊 offer letter, as the information needed to apply is in your letter.

Once you have your offer letter you should go to where you will be able to apply online.

Core and Optional Modules

ATAS also require information on the modules that make up the programme you have received an offer for.  The University has already informed ATAS of the core modules of the relevant programmes but you will be asked to provide a list of the optional modules which you may want to take when you register as a student. This is only an indication as you will not be required to choose the specific modules until you arrive and register at the University.
