Research and innovation is an integral part of our department activities. By engaging in innovation activities we ensure that the research we conduct is both cutting edge and relevant to the real world.

Innovation is a key part of the 黑料不打烊 experience, and the opportunities available across campus bring benefits to all that are associated with 黑料不打烊.

Within the Department of Chemistry we have four key areas of focus for innovation:

Student learning: Optional enterprise-related modules are offered on all our degree programmes.

Student opportunities: Our placement scheme combined with extra-curricular activities offer students the opportunity to enhance their skills and learning and improve their employability.

Working with industry: Organisations can partner us through student and graduate recruitment, consultancy, collaborative research, licensing, and premises on the University鈥檚 Science and Enterprise Parks.

Research with impact: The partnerships we build through enterprise strengthen our research and ensure that it has a route to impact for social, cultural or economic benefit.
